Kyrenia Castle
Kyrenia Castle – a Venetian castle standing on the eastern side of northern Cyprus since the 16th century. The castle to this day incredibly well preserved, it looks like the castle was built very recently. Take a walk around the castle and enjoy views of the harbor and downtown.
Bellapais Monastery
In the town of Bellapais in northern Cyprus, you can visit the 13th century. Monastery. The monastery is located next to the mountains and a beautiful coastline decorated with palm trees. The monastery is 220 m above sea level, so it provides excellent panoramas to the sea.
Castle of Saint Hillarion
Another special castle in northern Cyprus – Saint Hilarion. Interestingly, this castle is not visible from all sides. Only from on one side of the park, the castle unfolds in all its beauty dramatically nestled between the mountains.
Morphou Museum of Archeology and Nature
The Morphou Museum is small but interesting to visit. The highlight of the museum is the gold jewelry of ancient Rome collection, which in 2005 was discovered during the excavation of the runes. The museum is also surrounded by a garden where more important artefacts can be found.
Soli – runes of the ancient Greek city
Although most of the ancient Greek city of Soli is still underground, parts of the city can still be seen
walking around the city runes. The highlight of this area is the amazingly preserved ancient Roman amphitheater retaining its grandeur today.
Royal catacombs
The royal catacombs are a unique place in northern Cyprus where you can see the resting places of famous nobles. There is a small museum of local curiosities nearby. Those who wish can take a walk inside the catacombs themselves.
